A unique idea for a Father’s Day gift comes from startup PeggyBank. The company, founded a year ago, converts old VHS tapes, photographs, 8mm film and other formats to digital memories, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Customers are sent a a pre-addressed box that can be filled with the old materials that they would like digitized. Once everything is digitized, it is uploaded to a personal online “PeggyBank Vault.”
Accessing the vault is free for customers, and allows users to edit and share their memories across a variety of platforms, including Facebook. Additionally, the company can also save the digitized materials onto flash drives, DVD, and CD-R.
Prices for this process vary based on the type of original material, quantity and desired final format.
