RenderMonkey, the design studio responsible for many Web exhibits at the NY MoMA has created a new iPad app, currently for sale in the iTunes App Store. The newly launched Art Lab app allows users age 7+ to explore the museum’s art in a new interactive way.
Several artists from the MoMA collection have given rise to the app’s activities. Sound compositions like those of Elizabeth Murray, collages inspired by Henri Matisse, Jim Lambie’s line designs, and the random collages of Jean Arp are all included in the app. There is also a collaboration feature available.
