NBC Olympics and Panasonic announced the first-ever 3D coverage of the Olympic Games will be available to multichannel providers, which serves nearly 80% of all U.S. homes. Operators carrying the feed, which totals about 12 hours a day, includes Armstrong, AT&T, Cablevision, DIRECTV, Time Warner Cable, Verizon, and others. According to Broadcasting & Cable, the feed will be produced by the International Broadcasting Committee’s Olympic Broadcasting Services and use Panasonic’s 3D technologies.
Events will include the opening and closing ceremonies, men’s and women’s gymnastics, diving and swimming, bicycle racing, and track and field.
