Ask.com recently announced the acquisition of nRelate, an early-stage content discovery company. nRelate will become an Ask.com division, headquartered in its NY offices. The deal sends Ask.com on the path of not only answering questions, but also the ability to create and share content. Ask.com’s CEO Doug Leeds told Media Post News that “search came first, followed by social integration. Now the site will recommend the next destination, even if that means taking the visitor to a related publisher’s site or sponsor’s brand page.”

nRelate is approaching 1 billion impressions per month, serving clients from big brand names to bloggers. Brands have even begun to create content to distribute their messages through the nRelate widgets. Ask.com plans to distribute this content to their more than 65 million unique US monthly visitors.
