Mayor’s Office Announces Media and Entertainment Grants

Local media and entertainment companies in NY can now apply for the City’s Training Grants and the Executive Education Program. According to NYC.gov, the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment and the Department of Small Business Services have partnered together to support local businesses in the media and entertainment industry. The focus will be on two sectors: Customized Training and Strategic Steps for Growth, both of which are meant to help in fields of post-production, TV, video, print or digital media services and more. In order ot be eligible to apply, the company must be based in one of the five boroughs of NY.

  • Strategic Steps for Growth- This education program is designed for media and entertainment entrepreneurs and lasts nine months. The course features an award-winning curriculum that allows each business executive present to use their own company as a case study.
  • Customized Training Grants- These grants are aimed at funding for specialized skill training for the post-production field and other industry-related companies. Companies will have to identify the skills their employees will need to improve the company performance.
