Following R/GA’s growth in revenue and employees over the last year, the agency is launching two new offerings as well as expanding their number of offices around the world. Worldwide revenue last year totaled $242 million, according to Advertising Age, compared with $190 million in 2010.
One of the new offerings is in the realm of consulting, and is intended to compete with consultancies like Accenture and McKinsey & Company. The other is centered on product innovation – helping conceive, create and bring out new products and services. It is meant to compete against firms like Ideo and Frog Design. A third possible offering may be added in a new Los Angeles office in the area of branded entertainment — assisting marketers to develop content like television shows, music and Web series in which brands and products are integrated. The three new offerings join around 15 services already available to clients that include social media, mobile advertising, relationship marketing, analytics, commercial production and, of course, digital advertising.
According to The New York Times, the goal of the new offerings is to expand product innovation beyond the realm of new products to include helping companies improve on a product they already launched to average success, and make it stellar.
