The Conde Nast-owned publication, The New Yorker, will add Andy Borowitz’s Borowitz Report to its network of blogs. Borowitz, satirist and comedian, boasts about 275,000 Twitter followers and has been a frequent contributor to the “Shouts and Murmurs” section of the magazine. According to Mashable, the comic announced the move with some of his usual humor, writing, “Longtime Borowitz Report readers might ask: how will moving to The New Yorker, known for its excruciating fact-checking, change The Borowitz Report, which is composed entirely of lies? The answer: not at all. The Borowitz Report will be as inaccurate as always, and if I ever write something that turns out to be true you have my deepest apology and my promise that it won’t happen again.”
Borowtiz ended the announcement with a genuine dedication to his mother, who passed away this month at the age of 83 and loved reading The New Yorker.
