10 Startups Debuting at Tonight’s NY Tech Meetup

Today marks yet another NY Tech Meetup, a monthly gathering that features the demoing of 10 companies for 3-5 minutes each. Only 850 seats are available at every meetup for over 25,000 members. According to The Next Web, the event takes place at NYU‘s Skirball auditorium and the tickets sell out almost instantly. Since the demand for meetup tickets is so high and so difficult to get, TNW has compiled a list of the 10 startups that are demoing at tomorrow’s event. Some of the companies may be brand new, while others have been around for some time.

1. Dashlane- The easy way to save all of your personal information in one place. All data is accessible anywhere and can only be viewed by the account user. Makes forgetting passwords and important ID numbers a thing of the past.

2. Appguppy- Online tool that lets you build your own mobile app and distribute it outside of app stores.

3. Shindig- NYC startup that enables user to give an online reading, talk, or interview in front of an online group. Can also share the stage with fans and take questions from those in the online audience.

4. Skillcrush- Site that helps you master technology. The site features interviews, terms, findings, and articles on tech information from across the web.

5. Consmr- Platform for ratings and reviews of grocery and drugstore products. The mobile app allows user to scan a product and instantly see opinions of other people who have used the product.

6. Instinct- Site that acts as a virtual music teacher. The software teaches a user how to play a piece of music and listens along to giev instant feedback.

7. Social Bicycles- Cyclists can find and unlock bikes using their mobile phones. The company is setting out to build the world’s first bicycle with an on-board computer, mobile communications, and an integrated GPS-enabled lock.

8. Jirafe- Used by online retailers to get reliable data and insights for making better marketing and merchandising decisions.

9.Twilio- Web-service API that lets you use existing web languages and skills to create voice and SMS applications.

10. Vook- Cloud-based eBook publishing platform that allows you to create and publish your own eBook. when you publish through the site, you get 100% of the royalties.
