15 startups recently presented at the Dreamit Demo Day in NY with a room full of investors and press. Dreamit, one of the best accelerator programs in NY, hosted the event in the midtown TimeLife building, according to Business Insider. 200 people gathered for the Demo Day including founders from Israel, Costa Rica, and Stockholm. Some of the notable startups who presented during the demo day were:
- Indiewalls- startup that lets local merchants support local artists by hosting their works on their walls. Merchants select art they want to display, and Indiewall provides the artist’s pieces for 3 months.
- Weesh- a social network for couples that operates like a calendar app. It is similar to Yelp in a way because it helps couples find things to do through local venues’ recommendations and other friends.
- Kid Nimble- a search tool for parents to help them find activities for their kids by pulling in reviews, and showing parents which of their Facebook friends have sent their kids to that activity.
- Winston- is similar to Apple’s Siri but also pulls in social news as well as data. It tells you recent updates from Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Winston also reads you summaries of stories from your favorite websites.
