Austin Wierschke of Rhinelander, Wisconsin is once again the fastest texter in America. The 17-year-old won the sixth annual US LG National Texting Competition in Times Square for the second year in a row. Austin received $50,000 in prize money and says that he will use the money, along with last years prize, to pay for college. There were eleven contestants from around the country and they all used the same LG Optimus Zip phone during the competition, according to Newser.

The competition, sponsored by LG Electronics, tested the contestants texting speed, accuracy and dexterity. In order to prepare for the Times Square competition Austin said he sent about 500 texts a day to his friends.
