Jobstr is a NY started company that creates an open forum where people from a wide range of occupations open themselves up for questioning. Founders Frank Hajdu and Dan Corbin have so far accumulated about 100 Q&As, with more than 1,800 answers. Every host who wishes to start a Q&A is reviewed, and if they wish to remain anonymous, Jobstr will ask for additional verification information to ensure the hosts are who they claim to be – there have yet to be any denials.

A model for this kind of service already existed on social news site Reddit, which features regular discussions called “Ask Me Anything.” Though many subjects are just anonymously telling secrets of the trade, the point of Jobstr for the founders, was to tell stories and give a human side to those overlooked workers like meter maids or service workers.
