The NY City Council has announced that it will curate Kickstarter campaigns aimed at improving the quality of life in NYs poorer neighborhoods.  The goal is to get philanthropic-minded citizens from around the world to help with projects including restaurants, urban farms, and art installations. The initiative follows already successful NY-based Kickstarter projects like Seasoned Vegan, a Harlem-based restaurant which raised over $20,000.
