Columbia Inks Deal for Applied Sciences NY Campus

NY recently announced a deal with Columbia University for a new science institute. This is the city’s fourth science and technology campus agreement, after CornellNYCTech, New York University’s Center for Urban Science and Progress and the New York Genome Center.

All four universities competed in the Applied Sciences NYC challenge, an initiative designed to create a world-class tech campus. Metrofocus reports the city expects to generate more than $33 billion in overall economic growth and thousands of permanent and construction jobs from the applied science initiative.
