Jennifer Johnson co-founded NY-based Visible Market last year and created an app, Stock Touch, relaying real-time securities information in a game-like environment.
Visible Market is currently creating software for institutional markets and StockTouch displays 1,400 stocks organized in nine industry classifications. The app allows users to click and swipe through a series of stats and charts about companies’ stock performance, the performance of its peers and pull up news stories.
The app has a game-like interface, making the experience of moving through big data sets more intuitive. The company participated in this summer’s FinTech Innovation Lab program.G Johnson said the experience provided an understanding of how to position the company in the financial marketplace. The company has $800,000 in seed funding, and plans on raising $2 million in VC funding this fall.
