The Fifth Annual Software Freedom Day in NY will take place tomorrow from 6:30-10 pm. The event will be held at NYU’s school for Interactive Telecommunications at 721 Broadway.
Software Freedom Day is a celebration of the merits and successes of free software. The event will have a short program of speakers including:
- James Vasile of the Software Freedom Law Center on “Free Software vs Censorship and Surveillance.”
- Jon Stanley on the Fedora project
- “Wikipedia Takes Manhattan’ presented by Wikimedia NYC
- Occupy <3s Open Source presented by TechOps of the NYCGA
