Girls Who Code just graduated their inaugural class of 20 high school students. The eight-week intensive summer program taught NY high school students with little or no tech experience the basics of Python and JavaScript, web design and app development. Their final projects were presented at Google’s NY headquarters.

Khady Samb and Masuma Ali created a site for sharing computer science and programming resources called Learn CS Programming. Other projects included an app, Say Something, that lets people find shelters and soup kitchens for homeless people.  GWC founder Reshmah Saujani wants to expand the program to seven cities in 2013.
