Flybridge Capital Partners opened an office in Manhattan after investing in multiple NY startups, like 33Across and 10gen. Partner, David Aranoff, leads the firm and is currently based in NY. The company also recently hired Caitlin Strandberg from NY-based startup LearnVest. Flybridge is originally based in Boston and the company decided that it was the right time
Aranoff told Xconomy, “Most of us had been spending a lot of time in New York over the past few years. Our deal flow, as well as the number of new investment companies, has been growing steadily here. It was clear that New York was more than an experiment.”
Aranoff also explained New York has become increasingly attractive because of Mayor Bloomberg’s multipronged effort to promote entrepreneurship and innovation among young people.
