Google is hosting a Big Tent conference session today, addressing the effect of the Internet on our society, at Midtown Manhattan’s Skylight West. This particular session will have a special focus on the arts, creativity, and culture, according to Variety. The conference is hosted with NY’s Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, and will feature a speech by Todd Asher, the first deputy commissioner of the office.

Other speakers include Michael Rapino, president and CEO of Live Nation Entertainment, David Drummond, Google’s senior VP of corporate development, Amit Snoot, group manager of the Art Project at Google, Shane Smith, founder of VICE, and many others. A full video of the presentation will be available on Big Tent’s YouTube channel and its Google Plus page. Last year’s Big Tent event in London attracted 300 attendees, and has since traveled to over a dozen cities around the world. Though presentations in NYC won’t take place in an actual tent, after the event Cirque du Soleil will preform in a rooftop tent at Skylight West.
