The NYFD has some of the toughest civil service exams. Several websites offer materials and test questions as study aids. But some say easy access to sensitive data such as rescue procedures for subway tunnels under the East River and gas pipe maps puts the city in unnecessary danger.

Captain Joseph Loftus, of LtQuestions.com, said that all of the data is already publicly available and he even notified the NYFD before starting his site. But Joseph King, a counter-terrorism expert at John Jay College thinks these sites could be used by terrorists to undermine the city’s infrastructure.
