Nine NYS public broadcasters are cutting operating costs by joining one facility. CentralCast LLC provides centralized master control operations at the WCNY-TV/FM facility in Syracuse. CentralCast has an automated workflow that reduces highly complex centralized broadcasting to just three screens. Operators no longer have to look at 35 or more screens. Instead the automated workflow performs its own quality control monitoring. A data-driven process notifies the operator on duty if there is a problem.
Other CentralCast member stations include WNET/New York, WLIW/Long Island, WNED/Buffalo, WXXI/Rochester, WSKG/Binghamton, WPBS/Watertown, WMHT/Albany and WCFE/Plattsburgh.
