Joshua Kushner, founder of Thrive Capital, wants to invest in businesses that transform traditional industries. The NY based fund just closed an oversubscribed $150 million fund in only 10 weeks. Last fall, they closed a $40 million dollar fund.

Kusher, 27, invests in Kickstarter, Instagram, Warby Parker and Fab.  He is also the son of real estate mogul Charles Kusher and brother of Jared Kushner, owner of The New York Observer.  Thrive is one of the few VCs that have raised bigger funds within the past year, putting it in a class with Aydin Senkut’s Felicis Ventures, Manu Kumar’s K9 Ventures and Dave McClure’s 500 Startups.
