Viggle is trying to surge ahead in the second screen app market with free giveaways. The NY based startup is handing out gift cards, music downloads and iPods to users who stay with their product. The app awards “watchpoints” to users who can redeem them for credits with Best Buy, Sephora, Starbucks , iTunes and Hulu Plus.
Since its January launch, Viggle boasts more than one million users, but only about 660,000 are active. Chris Stephenson, president and CEO, said that the company needs about five million active users a day to gain traction.
