Vimeo, NY based video hosting site, recently ranked among the top ten video web sites and is now offering new tools to help its video makers make money. According to Gigaom, the first tool is called Tip Jar, which allows viewers on Vimeo to contribute money to support video creators, who get 85% of the donated amount. This feature can only be activated by members of Vimeo’s paid services, Vimeo Plus and Vimeo Pro. Additionally, the site is a lunching a new pay-to-view service that will allow creators to put their work behind a paywall. A beta version of this feature will be launched in early 2013.
