David Szuchman, head of the Manhattan DA’s cybercrimes unit, says a healthy dose of paranoia is a good thing. According to Szuchman, nearly every crime has a cyber element. In addition to the obvious hacking, fraud and identity theft, violent and white collar crimes also have tech elements. Computers, smartphones and other personal devices all hold clues to solving crimes.
