MIAMI BEACH, FL – OCTOBER 25: A pedestrian’s umbrella is turned inside out as high winds hit it as the outer bands of Hurricane Sandy are felt on October 25, 2012 in Miami Beach, Florida. After passing over Jamaica and eastern Cuba Hurricane Sandy is expected to hit eastern Cuba and head into the Bahamas Thursday and Friday, there is a tropical storm warning in place for coastal Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties and the Atlantic waters off southeast Florida. As a result of Hurricane Sandy, the D: Dive Into Mobile Conference and Google’s Android event today have both been canceled. The effects of the storm are expected to start as early as this morning in NY and Governor Cuomo has declared a state of emergency. The Dive Into Mobile Conference, presented by All Things D, will be rescheduled for a later date and anyone with a ticket will be able to use that ticket to attend. At Google’s event, the company was expected to reveal the next version of Android. Google has not yet said their plans on when or where they will hold the rescheduled event.
