With most of Lower Manhattan still without power, tech companies
in Silicon Alley are also dark. Google closed is gigantic Chelsea office and told its 2,000 NYC employees to stay home until further notice. Even thought Facebook’s Madison Ave. office has power, it told employees to work form home because the subway system is still down, while Fab, located in the West Village, has no power and their offices are flooded.
According to the AP, some employees are opening their apartments to co-workers. Fab’s CEO Jason Goldberg has 12 people working in his two-bedroom apartment, including two people who’d flown in from overseas and had to be evacuated from their hotel.
