Microsoft recently opened its 24th American retail store at The Westchester shopping mall in downtown White Plains. The new store is on the second floor of the mall and opened to a line of people that stretched to the parking lot, according to The Bedford Daily Voice. Microsoft provided giveaways, raffles and even some tickets to a Lenny Kravits concert that celebrated the stores’ opening.
Before the opening of the new store, Microsoft presented checks totaling $1.5 million in software grants to local organizations. The local chapter of Junior Achievement received one million dollars, and the JCY-Westchester Community Partner and Nepperhan Community Center received $250,000 each.
