NYC Venture Fellows has opened its nomination process for 2013. The selection will be done by industry leaders from both NYC and the world. Nominations cannot be submitted by family members or self-submitted. Candidates are expected to have the following characteristics, according to the NYC Venture Fellows site:

• Founder or Co-founder of an innovative organization (for profit or not-for-profit) with the potential to create significant, sustainable employment in NYC. Customary titles will be CEO, Chairman or equivalent of an independent entity.
• Have a history of extraordinary achievement, substantial leadership, and demonstrated global perspective.
• Demonstrate positive societal impact.
• Have no more than 20 years of work experience.
