Rebel Mouse, social media site created by former HuffPo CTO Paul Berry, raised $2.5 million from a group of well-known investors, including Oak Investment Partners, SoftBank, NEA, First Round Capital Partners, betaworks, Chris Dixon, John Batelle, Gary Vaynerchuk, Greg Coleman, Howard Lindzon, Lerer Ventures and Jonah Peretti. According to PandoDaily, Berry would have preferred if this news had remained under wraps, but he accidentally leaked the news his Stocktoberfest presentation.
Rebel Mouse launched three months ago and functions as an aggregator between Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The site gets 1 million monthlies and will start to roll-out paid options, like custom URLs and apps.
