After a set of master FDNY keys that control elevators and traffic lights were being auctioned on eBay for $150, Christine Quinn demanded the site review its security measures. The City Council speaker wrote eBay president John Donahoe to close any loopholes that could be harmful to the city. eBay’s written policies prohibit sale of sensitive government equipment—including mass transit items, uniforms and internal documents.
