Frankenstorm scared NY into canceling major entertainment events. After the city announced a public transit shutdown and evacuation of low lying areas, Broadway and Off-Broadway went dark. Outdoor shooting permits were canceled until further notice. TV stations went into disaster protocol, with only an essential crew allowed. Films including Warner Bros’ A Winter’s Tale and indie film After the Fall halted production. Monday evening premier’s of Denzel Washington’s film Flight and Universal’s The Man With the Iron Fist were both postponed. The Navy SEALs are undaunted by the prospect of the storm of the century. The Weinstein Co. and National Geographic say they are still opening Tuesday with SEAL Team Six: The Raid on Osama bin Laden.
