The NY-based startup, Shoptique, has a Paris launch this month. The curated site of small businesses selling unique luxury goods to U.S. customers has a waiting list of vendors who want to join. Founder Olga Vidisheva says the site is temporarily capped at 180 stores to enable maximum exposure. An editorial team also offers style advice and fashion trends as another way to build their brand.
Shoptique earns revenue from sales commission and has funding from Andreessen Horowitz, Greylock Partners, Benchmark Capital and SV Angel.
