The mobile ad payment startup Square announced its purchase of 80/20, a NY design firm. Jack Dorsey, CEO and founder of Square, tweeted the news. The NY acquisition occurred two weeks after Square closed more than $200 million in new funding. 80/20 specializes in interface design for clients including Warner Bros., Motorola, Vodafone, Second Life and Sony.
“The natural next step for 80/20 is to commit our focus to one company, and Square is a perfect fit,” the 80/20 said in a note posted on its website.
