Cablevision Makes Customers Call for #Sandy Refunds

Cablevision customers who lost service during Sandy must call the company for refunds on their cable bills, according to the NY Daily News,   Cablevision refuses to do what Time Warner Cable is doing, which is automatically providing credits to customers without power, television or Internet service in areas knocked off the grid by the storm. Cablevision’s is staying with its policy that requires customers to call and specifically explain when they lost service in order to qualify for a refund.

“It’s an inhuman argument that people with no power, no heat and nothing left need to find a way to drive somewhere, charge their cell phones and call Cablevision to inform the company that they have no service,” said Tim Dubnau, 44, an organizing coordinator for the Communications Workers of America.
