Facebook rescheduled its Gifts event for November 15. This is the second attempt by the company to host the event since Hurricane Sandy. It was originally scheduled for November 1, according to CNET, but will still take place at FAO Schwartz in Manhattan. Hurricane Sandy caused power outages and transportation issues, forcing many companies to reschedule their events, including Google, which rescheduled it device launch.
Facebook gave minimal details about the event, but is expected to provide information about its Gifts Service retail partners. The Gifts option went live in September, and lets Facebook users give each other actual gifts via the social network. The company also recently announced that users can donate to charities with the Gifts feature, choosing from one of the 11 nonprofits that Facebook is partnered with.
