Pando Daily reported that 42Floors received $5 million in Series A funding from real estate heirs Jared and Joshua Kushner of Thrive Capital. Their investment was key in getting involvement from the commercial real estate industry. With their influence, the startup convinced most of the big NY landlords to list on their site. 42Floors founder and CEO Jason Freedman says most of their users are tech companies–a category that’s made Midtown, Chelsea and the Flatiron districts, “currently the hottest real estate market in the world.” Jeremy Levine of Bessemer Venture Partners was the co-lead on the funding. He describes the startup as a kind of Yelp for real estate.
