The generators at Percy’s Tavern in the East Village are a boon to local residents this week, as Larry Watson, owner, estimates between 1,200 to 1,500 NYers have charged their mobile phones there. DNAinfo also reported that other East Side businesses including Cowboy Pizza and Pushcart Coffeealso have a long line of people waiting to charge devices.
In related news, Chase also showed community spirit by inviting startup Moxie to put free cellphone charging stations inside their 41st and 3rd Ave. branch. It took Moxie to about 15 minutes set up charging and Wi-Fi distribution stations.
