Charles Bonello, co-founder of River Twice Capital Advisors, recently analyzed how much time and money goes into locating startup office space. He created a helpful reference of Manhattan and Brooklyn co-working spaces and posted it as a Google Map on his blog.
Some of the takeaways on his findings:
- About 600,000 square feet of co-working is space currently available in NY–equivalent to 400 Starbucks.
- The largest providers are Sunshine Suites and WeWork.
- Overall capacity for NY co-working is approximately 6,500 people at any one time.
- Costs range from free (Wix Lounge); low at $25/day (Space-4-work) and high at $295 (Green Spaces.)
