Bloomberg reports that Time Warner Cable may soon be outfitting NY subway stations with wireless Internet service. Transit Wireless, the company in charge of the $200 million project, is in “active and ongoing” talks with TWC. AT&T, T-Mobile USA and Boingo Wireless Inc. are already involved in the project.
The New York City Transit Authority gave Wireless Transit two years to wire six stations in Manhattan. They have four more years to complete the remaining 271 stations.
