#BuzzFeed: Combining Business Reporting With Social Distribution

BuzzFeed covers politics, tech and lifestyle, but not business. Ben Smith, editor-in-chief, is still evaluating the best way to approach business reporting. He said his site can’t compete on scale with specialized news wires. They ultimately want to cover business in a way that’s best suited for social distribution. He told Crain’s New York Business, “But it’s a big space and you want to find the really social conversations, so we’re taking our time to get things right.”
