#Cuomo Pushes Five-Year Extension of NY #Film Production Credits

Last year, a record number of TV series—including “A Gifted Man,” “Unforgettable,” “Person of Interest,” and “Smash”–were filmed in NY. This week, NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo proposed a five-year extension to the state’s film production tax credit of $420 million a year—totaling $2.1 billion between 2015 and 2019. Restrictions on claiming the post-production portion of the credit will be reduced, according to The Chicago Tribune, but additional documentation of effectiveness of in creating jobs will be required.
