In a privacy policy update, Foursquare announced they would start making more user data public. Starting January 28, the full name of the user will be displayed on the service and venues will have more access to user data. Venues could previously see only 3 hours of customer info, but now will have access to a longer time period. The NY-based Foursquare, however, did not disclose the length of time.

Foursquare did say that users can alter the “full name” in their settings and can opt out of letting venue owners access their check-in data.
