Reporters at The Huffington Post are trying something new: blogging. Capital New York reports that HuffPost is unveiling a new blogging template that allows its reporters to maintain a personal blog in addition to their beat reporting. Their blogs are intended to act as “a reporter’s notebook,” according to executive editor Tim O’Brien. The idea behind the move is to allow reporters to put up something quickly in the hopes that it might go viral. The idea to roll out blogs to every reporter came from Jimmy Soni, the site’s managing editor, particularly after criminal justice reporter Radley Balko’s blog The Agitator, started doing so well.
