“Internet Use Disorder” Rampant in NY

According to the New York Post, the city’s tech boom has contributed to more NYers staring at screens while walking, talking, at the theatre and other, more intimate activities. It’s a condition listed in the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistic Manual of Mental Disorders, or DSM-5, as “Internet use disorder.” Chelsea-based comedian Dan Nainan says that some of his friends spend all their time on “World of Warcraft.” He told the Post, “I have a friend who wants to divorce her husband because all he does is ‘WoW.’”
