NY Takes a Slice of Silicon Valley’s VC Funding

1stdibsNY had a very good fourth quarter, according to CB Insights CEO Anand Sanwal. He told the New York Daily News that, “New York ended up stealing share from California.” California’s share fell from 45 percent to 41 percent, while NY went from 11 percent to 12 percent. NY’s funding grew to a five-quarter high. Just over 100 companies received VC funding, up 28 percent from last year and total funding rose 14 percent to $648 million. NY-based company Relationship Science raised about $45 million in the quarter. Other VC funding went to 1stdibs, Borro, The Fancy and Kaltura.
