Sen. Schumer and Google Unveil New Free Chelsea WiFi Network

Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-NY) joins Google in announcing neighborhood-wide free WiFi in Chelsea Tuesday morning. The free WiFi network extends from Gansevoort Street and 19th Street to Eighth Avenue and the West Side Highway. The network will help attract new tech businesses to the area, including the Chelsea Triangle, 14th St. Park and Gansevoort Plaza. Sen. Schumer, Google CTO Ben Fried and representatives from Chelsea Improvement Company will unveil the new WiFi network at the Fulton Senior Center garden at 119 9th Ave. at 10:30 am.
