Comcast Ventures is now investing $11 million in the NY-based online fantasy sports site FanDuel. According to Crains New York,  FanDuel will use the money to double their NY employees to 40 in sales, marketing, and customer service positions and to expand its retail user base. They also hope to build on already existing  media partnerships

Fan Duel offers a unique approach to fantasy sports. Instead of players paying upfront fees to join a league, pick a team, and wait for results over a season, their process has results based on a single day’s play. Of the hundreds of thousands of fantasy sports sites, the President of the Fantasy Sports Trade Association said that only several hundred are actually commercially viable.
