A new report from CB Insights revealed that NY takes second place in tech mergers and acquisitions. CB Insight’s Tech M&A Report found 2,227 private tech companies were bought in 2012. California was first, with 455 companies. NY came in second with 138 companies. Anand Sanwal, CB Insights CEO, told Crain’s New York Business that he expects even more M&A activity this year. “Tech companies have a lot of money on their balance sheets, and there are a lot of non-tech companies that are being forced to innovate,” he told Crain’s. “One way they can innovate quickly is by acquisition.”
