Sony has unveiled its first video-game console in seven years, the PlayStation 4. Sony did not disclose prices or a time frame for when the product will go on sale.
The announcement comes at a time of industry shift towards smartphone and table gambling, according to NJ.com, and raises the question of whether games will still pay hundreds for a console only for gaming.
Last year, revenues from mobile and computer games rose 16 percent, according to NPD Group Inc. Sales, and titles for consoles fell 21 percent.
