After the 9/11 attacks, many of the broadcasters located in the Twin Towers relocated to the Empire State Building. Now, the realtors behind 1 WTC are hoping that they’ll consider moving back in 2015. The Durst Organization is promising better coverage and future-proof technology for the next 50-70 years.
According to John Lyons, Durst assistant VP and director of broadcast communications, 1 WTC will have building engineers on duty 24/7, two megawatts of back-up power for broadcasting operations, 24-hour access, water for transmitter cooling, fiber and copper access and hydraulic lift gates available at loading docks.
